BIO-IMAGING WEST AFRICA 2024
Date
29/01/24 to 09/02/24
Location
WACCBIP, Ghana
About the Course
In response to the evolving needs of scientific research in West Africa, a two-week training course has been developed to cater to group leaders, postdocs, and PhD students. The program covers a spectrum of topics ranging from fundamental fluorescence microscopy to advanced light-based methods, incorporating essential elements such as sample preparation, bio-image analysis, and hands-on sessions in confocal microscopy.
As participants from diverse organizations across West Africa come together, the course fosters a collaborative environment, encouraging networking and the exchange of ideas to contribute to the growth of a robust scientific community.
In this course you will:
Learn different sample preparation techniques for different cell types
Learn to design and execute an experiment scheme involving live cell imaging using mammalian cells and Plasmodium falciparum cells.
Learn to design and execute either direct or indirect immunofluorescent staining and imaging using the confocal microscopy platform.
